Baja Whale Watching

Explore one of the most exciting tourist destinations in all of Mexico--Baja California Sur--"where the desert meets the sea." The opportunity of a lifetime to "See It All and Do It All" on one great trip. Be there--be one of the few to pet a whale, go snorkeling with dolphins, scuba dive with sea lions, see "up close & personal" the incredible richness & variety in the Sea of Cortez.

Begin your adventure in the capital city of La Paz. Rekindle the romance! Walk on the beach and watch the stunning sunsets that blend the sky, land and sea.

Then on to Port San Carlos to meet the aquatic stars of this tour, the Gray Whales of Magdalena Bay. Each fall, thousands of gray whales make the 5000 mile journey from the freezing Arctic waters to the warm sheltered bays & lagoons of Baja California, to court, mate and give birth to their young. Be there--come to the best whale-watching waters in the world. Gray whale sightings are incredible, and (if you get really lucky) you may come away with a picture & incredible memory of "petting a whale."

From one experience to another, the days and nights will be as full as you want them to be. Experience a day trip to Espiritu Santo Island out of La Paz, go snorkeling in the crystal clear waters of the Sea of Cortez, and visit the sea lion rookeries. Snorkeling equipment is provided, and a delicious seafood lunch is included in this adventure. Go for the gusto and experience scuba diving with dolphins as companions. Equipment can be rented locally.

The desert is home for a rich collection of migratory and resident birds. A bird-watchers treat: spotting endemics such as the Grey Thrasher, Peninsular Robin, Peninsular Yellow Throat (Warbler), the Yantus' Hummingbird and many more exotics.

This tour will be one of the most enjoyable trips you will ever take. Whale watching, scuba diving, snorkeling, camping, caving, playing in the surf, & oh, yes, if you want, you can just relax, too. Did we mention the food? You won't believe it until you taste the mouth-watering seafood dishes of every variety and enjoy the superb traditional Mexican food.
